Below my profile picture in the right column is an image representing the culmination of my first year's learnings at Gaia University, it is title the Presence seed. The Presence seed expresses how I design and engage in my learning pathway. Below the Presence seed you will find my Output Packets (OP). These are my project reports which are the main body of work making up my e-portfolio. To access the pages of each OP simply click the OP title and a drop down menu will appear.

About me

I am a 7th Generation Vermonterâ, working towards the goal of living a regenerative lifestyle, which has a positive ecological and social impact. I am happily married to the Love of my Life, Corinne Chatelan. We live a nomadic and communal life, sharing food, story, work and laughter where ever we are. 

We have spent the past ten year traveling the USA, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Guatemala, West Africa and India. Our connections to these places spring from our personal relations with people living locally, we help their projects or simply learn and share with them. This attitude and life style of hands-on cooperation fulfills a deep need we have to commune.

I am an instructor at Yestermorrow Design / Build School, teaching and inspiring the next generation of earthen oven builders. I have been building and baking in earth ovens since 2003. The bread I am most passionate about is multi-grain wood-fired sourdough. Check out my facebook page Bode Earth Ovens.

I first heard about permaculture in Palenque, Mexico in 2003 where I got to flip through A Designers' Manuel by Bill Mollison. 

I was also first introduced to Gaia University in Mexico, in 2008. In 2010 I engaged my own independent ecosocial action learning by taking my first Permaculture Design Course (PDC). It was taught in Burlington, Vermont, by Mark Krawczyk and Keith Morris. In 2012 I took and assisted in my second PDC in Auroville, South India taught by Bernard Alonso. I entered Gaia University in February of 2013 and will have completed my BSc program in October 2015.   Ecosocial Design and holistic living are my passions and this portfolio is a reflection of that. I hope you find something of value in this portfolio that can help you on your own path!
